It is famous for its safe and clean trails that take you through trees, mangrove swamps, and along the river. Access is free. There are two bird hides. A non-profit organization, Friends of Nahoon Estuary, can be joined to get a key for access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are three endemic species, the Cape Cormorant, Cape Shoveller, and the African Black Oystercatcher. As well as three red data species, the white-backed night heron, the black stork, and the Caspian tern. A total of 202 bird species have been recorded in the Nahoon Estuary Nature Reserve.
