Flaxseed oil is also known as linseed oil. It comes from the dried, ripened seeds of the flax plant. It is called one of nature’s tiniest miracles and known since the ancient Roman Empire.

Nutritional value and benefits of flaxseed oil:

Flaxseed oil contains one of the highest amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids. It also contains fiber, protein, phytochemicals, and minerals.

Assists the circulatory system by removing potentially harmful LDL cholesterol and increasing the healthy HDL cholesterol.

Promote the growth performance of your birds as it contributes towards the development and maintenance of muscles and normal bones. 

Provide a great amount of energy.

Flaxseed oil has anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial properties.

Omega 3 prevents atherosclerosis, the hardening of the arteries, in birds.

Brain food for birds.


Mix it in chop, pellets, dry or cooked food in moderation.

When the seeds are fed, it needs to be ground with a coffee grinder to be effective, otherwise, it is passed through the digestive system whole and unutilized.

Please note:

It rapidly becomes rancid, with an unpleasant odor, unless refrigerated.

Flaxseed can be given to your birds if you cannot get hold of the oil and vice versa.
