Coconut Oil Recipe for your birds:
Here’s a healthy Coconut Oil Recipe for parrots, cockatiels, budgies, and finches. Coconut oil can provide energy, improve skin and feather health, and has antimicrobial properties.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of organic, unrefined coconut oil (cold-pressed, no additives)
- Chopped fruits: Mango, papaya, or apple (bird-safe fruits)
- Chopped vegetables: Sweet potatoes, carrots, or zucchini
- Cooked quinoa or brown rice (optional for a balanced treat)
Instructions:
- Melt the Coconut Oil: Warm up the coconut oil slightly until it’s in liquid form. Be careful not to overheat it, as hot oil can harm your bird.
- Mix with Ingredients: In a small bowl, combine the chopped fruits and vegetables with the coconut oil. Stir to coat the ingredients evenly.
